CS Executive Exam Pattern 

  • The second stage under the CS curriculum is the Executive Programme. This Programme consists of two modules having a total of eight papers among themselves.
  • You can appear for either both the modules together or one module at a time as per your convenience. The students are expected to complete a Pre-exam online test conducted by ICSI before filling up their examination forms for the Executive Programme.
  • The Pre-exam Online Test is a computer-based online MCQ test that the students can appear from their home, using the allocated log in id and password.
  • Out of the eight papers, five of the papers are subjective papers where students are expected to write down the answers and three of the papers are MCQ based papers that are conducted in an OMR sheet. 
  • There is negative marking for the MCQ based papers, where the student will lose 1 mark for every 4 wrong answers. 
  • For the MCQ based exams, a total of 100 questions will be asked carrying one mark each that you have to answer in your provided OMR sheet. 
  • For the subjective papers, there will be a total of 8 questions asked with 2 questions carrying alternatives. 
  • The examination shall be conducted for a duration of three hours per subject.
  • However, in order to pass this programme one has to secure:
    1. 40% marks each paper.
    2. 50% marks aggregate.
  • If you score sixty percent or more marks at any paper, then you will be able to claim an exemption on that respective paper and then in case you are unable to clear the examination at that attempt, you will not have to sit for that particular paper again in your next attempt.
  • The Module wise segregation under this programme is:

Module 1:

  • Jurisprudence, Interpretation & General Laws.
  • Company Law
  • Setting up of Business Entities and Closure
  • Tax Laws (OMR based).

Module 2: 

  • Corporate & Management Accounting (OMR based).
  • Securities Laws & Capital Markets
  • Economic, Business and Commercial Laws
  • Financial and Strategic Management (OMR based).

The exams under this programme are held twice a year during the months of June and December, respectively.

Marking Scheme

For Subjective Papers: Marked as per the quality and correctness of the answer presented.

For Subjective Papers: 1 mark for every correct answer and Negative marking also present. You will lose 1 mark for every 4 wrongly answered questions.
